He didn't ask Ryan why someone would laugh at him wearing a dress - Ryan can think of a million reasons - but instead, why he would wear one as a joke. And it occurs to Ryan suddenly that...despite worrying about it, he doesn't actually have an answer.

[Then Wu's telling him how great he looks and Ryan beams with joy. He's so sincerely flattered, and it makes him instantly feel a hundred times more confident about the whole thing.
If he was Min, he would be stammering right about now and babbling something about baby steps, working his way up to wearing it on stage. But he's Ryan and now that Wu's said it it's all he can think about. He's an expert at yoyoing his confidence from being unsure to being so confident it almost feels unearned.]

[Despite the fact that he didn't want Wu to see his dress until it was on, he tries to peek over Wu's shoulder to where he left his gifted outfit on the bed.]
[ Wu's outfit is a suit, typical for him, but it's a lot more than his usual suits. It's a brighter green, a shinier fabric, the pants are a different cut, the boots are high heeled and chunky, the jacket is slinky and silky. Wu glances back at it with Ryan, grinning broadly ]
Maybe! Oh, boy, do you think that means she approves? I know she runs the other clubs, I wondered if maybe she through I was, you know, trying to steal her clients, but maybe she likes the Raccoon Room!
Boy, I hope so. I don't know, Ryan! I'm her competition now.
[ The hand on his shoulder is comforting, at least. But, the siren call of clothing is there, and he drops down to Ryan's bed next to his outfit, and starts undressing because he wants to play dress up too, okay?? ]
But, well. She must like it, and me! Because this outfit is definitely an outfit that Lil Nas X wore and only someone who liked me would give me that, right?!
[Despite that, he plays along and covers his eyes like he made Wu do when he was changing. He wants to see the whole look immediately, and is thrilled on Wu's behalf.]

[ Wu gets changed as quickly as he can, which isn't very quickly because he insists on wearing suits and tight, fitted clothes that are hard to get into and out of. But after a few minutes, his old suit is nicely laid out on the bed and he has the new suit on. He slips into the boots and stands up, arms out. ]

[ He hasn't even looked in the mirror yet, and is anxiously awaiting Ryan's critique ]
[ Wu flushes from his cheeks down his chest, soaking in the compliments, Yes, tell him how good he looks. It makes him feel so much, a joy radiating from his center, and he can't stop grinning, even as he looks in the mirror. He hadn't had a chance to try it on, Ryan having texted him early enough that he hadn't really dragged himself out of bed yet.
He probably wouldn't have chosen the cut outs on the chest for himself, but he likes them. He likes them a lot. He likes how the green looks against his skin, how you can see the soft outlines of his muscles through them, how the suit jacket is oversized, but contrasts with the tight shirt and pants.
He feels giddy with it, and looks from his own reflection to meet Ryan's eyes in the mirror ]
Oh, my guy, we are going to shred up the dance floor.
[The joy spreads right to Ryan and rebounds back to Wu. It's his first time seeing himself fully in the mirror, and it just feels...right in a way he can't articulate. The two of them look incredible, like these outfits were made for them specifically, cut from the cloth with them in mind.
All of Ryan's nerves about his outfit have vanished. He is so intensely happy and excited for this party. He goes from holding Wu by the shoulders to slinging one arm around them and pulling him in for a side hug so they don't have to stop looking at themselves in the mirror.]
We so are. The Red's not gonna know what hit it!
[He laughs and then strikes a pose for the mirror, sticking out his tongue and throwing up devil horns with his free hand.]
