I learned here that it's something called "homophobia". Some people thinks that boys liking boys or girls liking girls is wrong! And the Earth Kingdom was like that, it was very traditional where boys had to be with girls. Probably like where Varian's from, too. It's getting better! Slowly. But, well. I didn't really have the guts to risk it, back then.
