[ Wu meets him halfway, wrapping his arm around Raleigh, holding him close. It could be scary, but this is so different from when That Mako was holding on to him. This is two sided, this is Raleigh asking permission, holding him gently, letting Wu take that step.
They're very different people, from very different places, that were brought together by some strange twist of fate, but Wu is grateful to have Raleigh there, to have someone who would apologize for what he did, who would bring Wu a peace offering, who would accept forgiveness without trying to make it about himself or what he wants from Wu, or anything like that. Wu could almost sense that Raleigh didn't expect anything from him, didn't even expect forgiveness, which makes it so easy to give.
The baby makes a squeaking noise and struggles between their bodies, poking her little head between their shoulders. Wu laughs wetly and squeezes Raleigh tighter, careful of her. ]
[It's more of a murmur. He was working a thank you onto his tongue as it was but it's helpful that Wu was able to find his own words first. He's good at that. A skill Raleigh wishes he were better equipped with.
Being more of a physical communicator, he's aware that people's words aren't always what they're actually saying. He reads this as the real forgiveness. The gesture extended and accepted. That's when he actually relaxes, holding the hug for a long moment.]
Anything you need from me, anything I can do, just say the word.
I will. And, same. If I can help with anything, with the babies.
[ He pulls back, petting over the baby's head again with a soft laugh. He feels lighter, now. He's not good at holding a grudge, particularly one that's not truly earned. Raleigh isn't Kuvira, or his Aunt, or even Raiko. He doesn't deserve to be blacklisted for what the town made him do. ]
I might come by and help you take care of them, later this week? Four of them must be a handful.
